Pastoral counseling responds to the emotional, mental health, and spiritual needs of persons through counseling relationships. Clinical counseling as a fundamental human service assists individuals and families to meet life’s challenges in a healthy way. In the counseling relationship clients and counselor explore and facilitate choices that positively affect the individual, family and work environment, and quality of living on a day to day basis.

  • Sliding Scale Fee Structure:

The PCC standard fee is $100. PCC fees have been based on sliding scale since the outset in 1983. For those unable to afford a minimum fee, we have a client assistance plan. The plan is supported by donations from local churches, private donors, corporate donors, a percentage of fees from clients paying above the minimum and United Way of St. Mary's. The sliding scale minimum fee is $35. Clients utilizing our sliding scale or client assistance fund are the working poor who find themselves in need of help and otherwise unable to afford professional counseling either due to lack of finances or health insurance. These clients pay what they can afford. Some pay $0. Some pay $25, etc. Our client assistance program bridges the gap between the client payment and the $35.00 fee to enable the PCC to pay a minimum of $30 to counselors for their service.
